Motherwell Football Club

#Onthisday @MotherwellFC was founded on the 17th of May 1886, when two representatives of the two main Motherwell work teams, Glencairn FC and Alpha FC, met in Baille’s pub in Merry Street and decided to merge to create a club to represent the town as a whole at a higher footballing level. Motherwell had a successful debut, winning 3-2 against Hamilton Academical.
