It is perhaps the most difficult job on the field today – putting the ball into the back of the net. Outnumbered by defenders the goalscorers rely on craft and guile as well as lightning quick movement to create space for a shot at goal. Even then they still have the goalkeeper to beat. The best in the business are worshiped by the supporters and can command huge fees. This exhibition pays homage to the finest exponents of the art, both in Scotland and internationally. Many of the biggest names are represented from current stars like Shevchenko, Ronaldinho and Van Nistelrooy to legends of the game like Denis Law, Ferenc Puskas, Zico and Maradona. Come along and see Thierry Henry’s FA Cup Final shirt from 2003, Ally McCoist’s European Golden Boot and the 1904 Scottish Cup final match ball which was presented to Celtic’s hat-trick hero Jimmy Quinn.
